Caring for Silk
Hand Dyed and Screen Printed scarves can be dry cleaned. If desired, washing is also an option:
Hand Washing Silk
Silk charmeuse scarves and wraps can be hand washed using a small amount of mild detergent. Soak only a few minutes in a tub or sink with lukewarm water, rinse under cool running water. Do not wring or twist. Roll in a towel to remove excess water. Dark or bright silks may release excess dye. Rinse under running water until the water runs clear.
Silk can be machine washed on the delicate cycle if desired, although hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of your silk. Separate colors, as dark or bright silks may bleed. Metallic inks are best hand washed.
Never use bleach or harsh detergents. Do not use stain removers. Never expose to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Drying Silk
Silk scarves and wraps should be lain flat on a dry towel or hung to dry. Silk charmeuse baby blankets can be dried on the delicate setting.
Silk that has been dyed or washed can be ironed with a hot steam iron. Take care to move the iron around quickly, never resting on one spot too long. Do not use sizing or starch.
